The 2008 Siminovitch Prize in Theatre will be given to a professional playwright. Please consult the prize criteria. Nominations should include:

  • A completed Nomination Form
  • A supporting letter (maximum 2 pages) on why the nominee should be considered for this award.
  • A clear and up-to-date professional theatre resume for the nominee that outlines his or her accomplishments in the area of plawrighting (at least two noteworthy projects within the last 10 years), indicating all relevant dates.
  • One script (unbound) of a play that has been professionally produced in Canada within the past 10 years.
  • A maximum of 15 letter or legal sized pages containing comprehensive information on education and training, citations and other awards, as well as media clippings.
  • A 150-word biography of the nominee to be used for the purposes of publicity.
  • A photograph/headshot of the nominee to be used for the purposes of publicity.
  • Optional: an artist’s statement (maximum one-page) from the nominee.

Additional materials will not be considered.

The jury will consider all signed nominations received no later than 5pm on Wednesday, June 4, 2008. In addition, jury members may identify additional candidates. Self-nominations will not be considered. Completed nominations should be submitted by mail to:
