Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9tudi\u00e9 en sc\u00e9nographie \u00e0 l\u2019Option-Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Ste-Th\u00e9r\u00e8se, Catherine Bourgeois a compl\u00e9t\u00e9 un BA en sc\u00e9nographie \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure de th\u00e9\u00e2tre de l\u2019UQAM, ainsi qu\u2019une ma\u00eetrise en mise en sc\u00e8ne au Central School of Speech and Drama \u00e0 Londres. En 2003, elle a cofond\u00e9 la compagnie Joe Jack et John, et y a con\u00e7u et dirig\u00e9 l\u2019ensemble des productions depuis. En parall\u00e8le, elle a agi \u00e0 titre d\u2019assistante \u00e0 la chor\u00e9graphe Margie Gillis et d\u2019Associate Director pour Imago Theatre. Plusieurs de ses cr\u00e9ations sont all\u00e9es \u00e0 la rencontre de publics diversifi\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle nationale et internationale. Catherine, qui enseigne \u00e9galement \u00e0 \u00c9cole nationale de th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Canada depuis 2017, a acquis au fil du temps une r\u00e9putation de leader au sein de la communaut\u00e9 des arts vivants pour son esth\u00e9tique unique et l\u2019humanit\u00e9 de ses distributions. Membre des Femmes pour l\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 en th\u00e9\u00e2tre et du Comit\u00e9 de direction du chantier f\u00e9ministe, elle travaille et milite activement pour une plus grande reconnaissance de la pratique des femmes et des artistes en situation de handicap.<\/p>

Catherine est r\u00e9cipiendaire du Prix artiste-mi-carri\u00e8re de la Fondation de la Facult\u00e9 des arts de l\u2019UQAM (2018), du Prix Amyot (2019) de l\u2019\u00c9cole nationale de th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Canada, d\u2019un prix MECCAs (2008), de deux Cochons d\u2019or (Meilleure mise en sc\u00e8ne 2011 et 2014), et fut finaliste pour le Prix Jovette-Marchessault remis par le Conseil des arts de Montr\u00e9al.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
