Au cours des quatre derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, en tant que directrice ex\u00e9cutive de la Fondation de th\u00e9\u00e2tre Siminovitch, j'ai eu des centaines de conversations avec des gens \u00e0 travers le pays qui connaissent et appr\u00e9cient le Prix Siminovitch. Pourtant, si j'avais un dollar pour chaque moment d'\u00e9tonnement lorsqu'un.e artiste, un.e amateur.trice de th\u00e9\u00e2tre, un.e administrateur.trice, un organisme artistique subventionneur, ou m\u00eame un.e laur\u00e9at.e du Prix Siminovitch d\u00e9couvre que le Siminovitch ne re\u00e7oit que 0,01 % de son financement du gouvernement par an, et qu'il N'EST PAS dot\u00e9!<\/span><\/p>\n

La v\u00e9rit\u00e9 est que tr\u00e8s peu de gens se questionnent sur nos sources de financement, car le Prix Siminovitch est l\u00e0 fid\u00e8lement, ann\u00e9e apr\u00e8s ann\u00e9e, pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer les dramaturges, r\u00e9alisateurs et concepteurs canadiens, comme il se doit! Les artistes de th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Canada m\u00e9ritent cette reconnaissance essentielle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pendant ses 20 premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, le Prix Siminovitch a \u00e9t\u00e9 financ\u00e9 presque exclusivement par des personnes d\u00e9sirant honorer Lou et \u00c9linore Siminovitch. Lorsque Lou a atteint l'\u00e2ge de 100 ans, le conseil d'administration ind\u00e9pendant de la Fondation de th\u00e9\u00e2tre Siminovitch a reconnu qu'il serait difficile de maintenir le Prix \u00e0 moins d'\u00e9largir sa base de soutien.<\/span><\/p>\n

Je suis ravie de vous annoncer que de nouveaux\/nouvelles donateurs.trices se joignent \u00e0 nous chaque semaine et qu'en 2023, 85 % de notre financement a \u00e9t\u00e9 re\u00e7u de personnes et d'organisations qui soutiennent la mission de faire progresser le th\u00e9\u00e2tre au Canada en investissant dans des artistes de th\u00e9\u00e2tre novateurs. Nous applaudissons et sonnons les cloches \u00e0 chaque fois qu'une nouvelle personne contribue et se joint \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9, car cela symbolise une durabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 long terme et une autre ann\u00e9e pour le prix de th\u00e9\u00e2tre le plus pris\u00e9 du Canada !<\/span><\/p>\n
