Caroline Belisle

Caroline Bélisle is an actress, playwright and very, very angry feminist who graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada and the University of Moncton. She won the prestigious Gratien-Gélinas Prize for her play Les remugles ou La danse nuptiale est une langue morte, which was also a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Awards and the Antonine-Maillet-Acadie-Vie Prize. She has also been awarded the Artist of the Year in Theatre prize twice at the Gala des Éloizes.
Her plays include, amongst others, Dîner pour deux (Théâtre Populaire d’Acadie), Pépins, un parcours de petites détresses (Satellite Théâtre), Camping sauvage et domestique (Théâtre des Béloufilles), Les ensevelies (Théâtre l’Escaouette and Théâtre Catapulte), 21 novembre (TPA), Liste des enfants dévorés par les loups (Théâtre la Seizième), as well as all the puppet shows for young people in the Nounours series, produced by Pays de la Sagouine. Her works are available from Éditions Perce-Neige and Bouton d’or Acadie.

As an actress, she has recently appeared in Un. Deux. Trois. by Mani Soleymanlou, Découronné.e.s, directed by Christian Lapointe, in Annick Lefebvre’s La machine à cons, and in the TV series Garde partagée on Unis TV and Mont-Rouge on Radio-Canada. In 2025, she co-directed Hippocampe by Marc-André Charron at Satellite Théâtre.
