Donna-Michelle St. Bernard

Donna-Michelle St. Bernard aka Belladonna the Blest is an emcee, playwright and agitator. Works for the stage include Diggers, The First Stone, Give It Up, The Smell of Horses, Reaching For Starlight, Cake, Sound of the Beast, A Man A Fish, Salome’s Clothes and Gas Girls. She has contributed to collaborative works including Pandemic Theatre’s The Only Good Indian, Burnt Thicket’s We Treaty People and Tapestry Opera’s Forbidden with composer Afarin Mansouri. Her work has been recognized with a SATA nomination, Herman Voaden Playwriting Award, Enbridge PlayRites Award, Patrick O’Neill Award, Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding New Play, and three nominations for the Governor General’s Literary Award. She is co-editor with Yvette Nolan of Playwrights Canada Press anthologies Refractions: Solo and Refractions: Scenes, and editor of Indian Act: Residential School Stories. DM is the artistic director of New Harlem Productions.
