A note from Guillermo Verdecchia, Chair of the 2024 Siminovitch Prize Jury:

To assist the jury in their work, please be specific about what makes your nominee a potential Siminovitch Prize Laureate. Use all parts of the nomination package to tell a detailed story. The jury wants to know: what is it about the nominee’s work that is breaking new ground and/or enriching the art form? In what specific ways is this artist’s work unique and outstanding? You might discuss practice, technique, innovation, collaboration, and other aspects of the artistic process. The jury members may not be familiar with this artist’s trajectory or development; help the jury understand how your nominee’s practice and artistry have developed over time and how they are making a remarkable contribution to theatre in Canada. Point out distinct moments, features, elements, changes, shifts, discoveries etc. Choose images and or support material that help tell this story. The jury looks forward to reviewing your application. Good luck!
